Its source is everything at the table and everything in a players mind. One thing that is probably the most obvious is the use of money in poker it’s the button that can easily be pushed and send a good player over the edge. Another is the possibility and risk, which all factor into bluffing and those that master it have the component that really creates pro poker players. To play poker a person has to master each one of these in turn for themselves. More than that they need to just look past them during the course of any game, a player has to focus in and keep in check his or her own psyche to be able to bring home a larger bankroll every night.
Poker really causes a player to look inside because when you set that money down on the table it has to be there and you have to care no more about it than simply winning the next hand for the sake of winning. It’s the hardest thing to do especially when losing money in poker is as easy as making it. The first thing an advanced player or player looking to become more professional is they must separate their bankroll from their bank account. Not only separate them but severe the emotional tie they may have with it, in most modern day countries money has become idolized. It is not just a means of cash it embodies a lot more to people. It’s something that society has tried oh-so-hard to get you to believe! You must overcome this social brainwashing. Not to say you should not value your money or your chips for that matter, but when push-comes-to-shove you have to make the choice based on your cards, your odds, and the ‘right’ choice. Not be victim to large stack bullying and over-bets forced to play on your fear of losing your hard earned money.
All this applies to ever game of poker not just Texas Hold Em’ in a lot of cases it can be said to apply to all things in life, business must be treated as business and risks are a natural part of life. So for any poker player risk must become well understood and more importantly accepted. But you shouldn’t worry as long as you play to your best of your ability, you’re careful, and have a well setup bankroll you should be fine and not need worry. So just remember it’s a game of odds, probability, and psychology! You always have to remember not every table can bust to you!
